Cartographic animation is the application of animation to add a temporal component to a map displaying change in some dimension. This map, when in motion, uses cartographic animation to illustrate the path of a hurricaine across Florida. Weather forcasters use cartographic animation during each weather forecast to show us where inclimate weather can be expected.
