A Doppler radar is a specialized radar that makes use of the doppler effect to produce velocity data about objects at a distance. Doppler photos are created by sending out microwave signals toward an object, then watching to see how the signals bounce off the object and analyzing them. This was a dopplar image from 1/17/10 at 2:04am.
